Built by one of the grand families of the region (the head of which was a fine amateur player), Arcangues impresses from start to finish.
The clubhouse sets the pace with great views and excellent food and all 18 holes linger in the memory particularly the tough par threes and holes running alongside the stunning villas. Quite hilly and very tough from the back so, unless you're off single-figures and can hit it with the big boys, our advice is to take buggies, play off the forward tees and enjoy the views. Ideal holiday golf. Five miles south-east of Biarritz.
